I just wanted to thank you for this entry.
I am going through a very painful divorce and I am struggling with depression. Your reminder for me to not just give myself space to feel whatever, but to actually take time, go out and cry it out strong and then let it go.

Wow! What a powerful entry. So open and so honest.

The major shift that is occuring at this moment probably has a lot to do with moving in what is spirtually known as the “Golden Age”. During this shift I feel that there is going to be a lot of Earth Changes as well emotional changes for all of us to attend to. We all need to be ‘clear’ and keep negativity at bay by doing whatever we need to do to dispose of it. Thought is creation!

To be able to go and admire the beauty that surrounds you , while you are feeling depressed, is testament to your own strength. Depression is something that you don’t have to suck up! and keep yourself stupid on pills. Humans, for the most part, aren’t idiots and feelings are very real. Unfortunately whlile growing up were encouraged to “live with it” so we pushed our feelings to the side. Us boomers have a lot of emotional sorting to get through.

Thank goodness we try to instill in our children “it’s okay to feel that way” and now we need to heed our own advice.

Good for you for resigning from such a position.

I feel the same as you it’s not about the money it is about my time and respect.

I am sure that the people who followed your writing got a clear sense of your passion for writing, your honesty and integrity. They will miss you for sure.

I think that your public writing will start up again at some point in time as you do have a natural gift for the written word.

Until then you have your fabulous garden and home to work on and your blog line to keep us all up to date with your life.

Hey Syd
We have now hit the dog days as well.

Unfortunately I am still working sorta hard on getting my garden in shape.

I don’t find clay a very friendly sorry to work with in the Toronto area ( as you well know). The best I could do this year is pull out all the shrubs from the side of the house and put down some river rocks, hostas ( because they are so drought resistant) and solar lamps.

As I work my way further into the garden over the next while, as you know making a plan is a great idea, I plan on growing tomatoes, cucumbers and maybe something else.

When I read about your gardening, your love for it comes through and I get a great visualization for what you are doing.

Thanks for the comments. If you’re interested in this subject, I highly recommend Udo Erasmus’s book. He’s also got a cool website which I noticed when I Googled him. Lots of info about him as well – his education, research etc. I am not a nutritional expert. I’m simply a woman who wants to live as well as possible in all senses, and who likes to share the information I get from reading mag articles, books etc. I like to add my comments to these as well as comment on other issues. I share what I’ve found works in my life. I’m happy when like-minded people leave comments and exchange their ideas.

Your right your town is very lucky to have a trained journalist in the town to work for their paper.

They are also extremely fortunate that there is a local person (you) who has such a wonderful command of the English language and thinks for herself and is willing to put herself “out there” and take on such an undertaking such as filling in for a trained journalist.

Bravo for you for undertaking this placement and not being afraid to try.

Good job Syd adding your own thoughts and also the views of the first nations people in your paper. As a reporter you must remain stead fast to your views and not be bullied by others to promote something that goes against your morals.

People only bully other people to gain support for something.

Keep on writing the truth it resonates with everyone who reads your articles.

Well I think that you hit the nail on the head. People to day are juggling all the time. As well if you wish to remain on the cutting edge it is important to keep taking courses to keep up with this every changing world we live in.

I finished formally schooling in 1970. I then ended up going back in the late 70s and am still taking courses today.

Take it easy on yourself. Everything you are writing is coming from your heart which gives your articles that extra charm that other people don’t provide.
